What makes a resume ATS-friendly?
A resume is ATS-friendly when an applicant-tracking system can read it as clean, ordered text. In practice that means a single-column layout, real selectable text rather than an image, standard section headings (Experience, Education, Skills), no tables, text boxes, icons or headshots to scramble the reading order, and a PDF that carries a genuine text layer. Content follows the same logic: standard section names and the plain keywords from the job posting are what the parser matches on.
The two-column "designer" template is the single most common reason a strong candidate is filtered out. An ATS flattens a page into a stream of text, and two columns interleave into nonsense — your job title lands in the middle of a previous bullet, your dates detach from the role they belong to. Beyond structure, two habits move outcomes most. - Will my resume pass ATS screening?

- Where is my resume stored?
- In your browser, by default — nothing is uploaded. If you sign in with Google, your resumes are additionally backed up to your account (with your explicit consent) so they sync across devices, and you can export or delete everything from My profile at any time.
- Can I make different versions for different jobs?

- What is the "Save .json" button for?

- Can recruiters select and copy the text in my PDF?
