Your files are never uploaded — as architecture, not policy
This page contains the entire PDF engine, downloaded to your device like any script and run inside your browser’s sandbox. Contracts, medical records, bank statements — whatever you edit here is processed in your machine’s memory and written straight back to your disk. There is no upload to intercept, no server copy to breach, no retention policy to trust, and it works offline once the page has loaded. You can verify it yourself: open your browser’s network tab and watch nothing leave while you work.
Two honest limits: password-locked PDFs must be unlocked before editing, and the lossless optimiser restructures the file rather than recompressing images — real image compression changes your document’s quality, and we don’t do that silently.
Questions people actually ask
- How do I merge PDFs without uploading them anywhere?
- Drop the files onto this page. The whole PDF engine runs inside your browser, so merging, splitting and every other edit happens on your device — you can watch the network tab and see nothing leave. That is different from the well-known PDF sites, where "merge" means uploading your documents to their servers first.
- Is there a file size or page limit?
- No artificial one. The practical limit is your device’s memory, and a normal laptop handles documents of hundreds of pages comfortably. There is no page-per-day quota, no premium tier holding features back, and no queue — the usual limits exist to sell subscriptions, and there is no subscription here.
- Can I turn photos into a PDF, or a PDF into images?
- Both. Drop JPG or PNG images next to your PDFs and each becomes a page you can shuffle anywhere — including between pages of an existing PDF. Going the other way, select any pages and export them as high-resolution JPGs, with rotations applied.
- Does it work with password-protected PDFs?
- Locked PDFs must be unlocked with your password in a PDF reader before editing here — this tool does not remove or bypass protection. That is a deliberate boundary: honest tools do not strip other people’s document security.
- Why is the exported file sometimes bigger or smaller than the original?
- Editing rewrites the PDF’s internal structure, which often sheds redundant data older files carry. What it never does silently is recompress your images — real compression changes visual quality, and a tool should not make that trade without asking.
